Blogging? Copywriters do it faster!

Image courtesy of’s no doubt about the benefits of blogging.  But to be successful, your blog has to be informative, interesting and a good read.  And if you’re a busy person, there’s no doubt either that blogging takes time.  But if you don’t have the time or the writing skills, you don’t have to forego the benefits of blogging.

Many years ago, I owned a restaurant (a little known WORD-right fact).  People would ask me round for dinner and then apologise for the food … which was always fabulous.  I would tell them my work didn’t make me a better cook … but it was guaranteed to make me a faster one.

The same goes for copywriting – be that blogs, websites, or anything else which calls for the written word.  You might be a good writer, in the same way as you might be a great cook, but if it takes you hours to pen a few lines, then you are not making the best use of your time.

It makes sense to work out exactly how long it takes you to write something (including your ‘thinking’ and research time) and carry out a costing exercise.  Do this a couple of times and then find out how much a good copywriter would charge you for writing the same piece of copy.  My money would be on WORD-right’s copywriters giving you ‘more bangs for your buck’.

If you do think about using a professional copywriter, always make sure you get a firm quote for the job … not an open-ended hourly rate.  That way you won’t foot the bill if your chosen copywriter suffers from a bad case of writer’s block!
